We are committed to maintaining a safe environment for our clients, employees, and the public. We are currently seeking skilled and responsible Armed Security Officers to join our team.
Position Summary
The Armed Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of facilities, personnel, and visitors. This includes patrolling assigned areas, monitoring security systems, conducting inspections, controlling access, responding to incidents, and enforcing established policies and procedures. Officers in this role help prevent loss, protect property, and maintain a secure environment through professional presence, observation, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled patrols of assigned premises, both interior and exterior.
- Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and access control equipment.
- Control entry to facilities by verifying identification, issuing access authorization, and documenting visitor activity.
- Observe and report suspicious activities, safety hazards, and policy violations.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
- Preserve order and protect people and property through visible presence and proper situational awareness.
- Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident reports as required.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, clients, law enforcement, and emergency services when necessary.
- Operate security technologies and communication systems effectively and responsibly.
- Uphold all company policies, security protocols, and applicable federal and state regulations.
Minimum Qualifications (Illinois Requirements)
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).
- 20 Hour Basic Training Certificate.
- 40 Hour Firearm Training.
- Firearm Control Card (FCC).
- Valid FOID Card.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods and respond quickly in emergencies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to use security technology and reporting software confidently.
- Professional, reliable, and able to exercise good judgment under pressure.
Work Environment
This position involves working indoors and outdoors, sometimes in varying weather conditions. Officers must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times and follow all safety protocols.
